MindManager 6.0 on the PC

MindManager is business mapping software.

My feature work included Map Numbering, Export to PowerPoint, Timer, Import an Excel range, Create and edit spreadsheet topics, among others.

Feature Specification. Main Topics (in rainbow colors) contain important sections. Details are contained in subtopics and attached notes.

MindManager 6.0 Numbering dialog. Automatically number topics to a specified depth, and customize the display with labels.

The challenge here is to communicate to users that they have a choice about how deep in the map tree they want their numbering to go.

Thumbnail previews from within MindManager show users what their PowerPoint slides will look like and allow them to adjust the slide layout before exporting.

Originally, users were not getting well organized or relevant slides when they exported to PowerPoint.

We re-designed the topic sorting algorithm to improve MindManager's chances of producing relevant PowerPoint slides and included PowerPoint style options so that users can get a real sense of what their slides will look like.

The design goal was to design a Mac product, not a PC port, and to focus on MindManager's core functions.

To that end, functionality was streamlined and moved to the Inspector Panel.

The default background color was changed to white for a crisp and professional look.

While at Autodesk, I worked on the product installer, and several enhancements to AutoCAD 2004, like the i-drop interaction experience.
